Moths
Moths represent the vast majority of species of Lepidoptera, a group that includes insects with two pairs of membranous wings covered with scales and buccal parts adapted to suction. The life cycle includes the following steps: egg, larva, pupa and adult.

The moths of the clothes fly little and are not attracted by the light. Its development is influenced by humidity, being the ideal environment with relative humidity around 75%, heated and dark. The females deposit an average of 40 to 50 eggs in a period of 2 to 3 weeks, dying soon after laying. The eggs, which have an adhesive secretion, become attached to the fibers of the clothing fabrics. The larvae suffer from 5 to 45 seedlings, depending on the ambient temperature and the type of food available. They are whitish in color, with a dark head and weave a cocoon in the shape of a diamond, while they feed, and can be partially covered by it. The feed consists of wool, feathers, hair, hair, leather, dust, paper and occasionally cotton, linen, silk and synthetic fibers. Used clothes, dirty drinks, food, sweat or urine, in addition to those stored for a long time, are the most attacked. The feces of the larvae of the moths of the clothes have the same coloration of the fibers of the tissues.
