Fleas
Flea is the common name given to wingless insects of the order Siphonaptera. Fleas feed on the blood of mammals and birds. These animals can transmit serious diseases such as typhus and bubonic plague.

They usually affect pets. In addition to causing discomfort by the bites, they transmit worms, parasites and can induce allergic processes. The female of the flea deposits its eggs (whites 0.5mm long) in the animal and, as they do not settle, they fall into the environment where they only depend on temperature and humidity to hatch in larvae, within a period of up to 10 days. These remain on the carpets, blankets and crevices of the floors, feed on organic remains and adult flea feces. In 5 to 11 days they form a cocoon where the pupal form occurs. At 27ºC and 80% environmental humidity, they can become adult fleas in only 5 days.
