They are diptera insects, with complete metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, adult). The most important urban species are: Housefly, Drosophila spp (fruit fly) and Moth fly (seagrass fly).
The house fly is an insect that lives in environments used and frequented by humans and has a great adaptive capacity.
The Housefly does not feed on solid particles, so to regurgitate an enzymatic juice, saliva and stomach juice, over the solid food to liquefy it and later suck it through the mouth.
Their characteristics and habits transform them into transmitters and disseminators of various diseases such as: diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, cholera, tuberculosis, salmonella, etc.
Drosophila spp are small flies and are attracted to fresh, fermenting fruits and vegetables. The infested materials are fruits and vegetables (bananas, grapes, peaches, pineapples, tomatoes, potatoes, etc.) and fermented liquids like beer, wine and vinegar.
Moth fly are small flies that live in places near sewer pipes, in bathrooms, in kitchens and in damp places. Its greatest activity is nocturnal. Adults live for about two weeks, and in places with a high degree of infestation, after death, they generate a dust that, if inhaled, can cause allergic and respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma.
